Run a wacky blacksmith’s shop inside an 8-bit fantasy RPG video game in Forgesmith VR! Use a hammer and anvil to smash away at hot metal in time with retro chiptunes to forge swords, axes, and spears for loyal customers. The higher your score, the better quality the weapon. There’s not much time to marvel at your handiwork once the weapon is done, as your customers have quests to finish! Once a customer leaves, watch your patrons battle it out in a randomized roguelike RPG on an ‘80s coin op arcade machine in your shop. Forgesmith VR uses Gear VR’s new motion controls to create the most visceral 8-bit retro roguelike rhythm RPG strategy simulation ever made!

I enjoyed the game A lot I just wish there was a way to insult the adventurers when they are stupid you give him an S rank weapon he dies and he blames you not cool. Overall the game is fun! Two thumbs up.

Dev: use the arm model

Like the previous reviewer remarked, the controller implementation is bad. Unlocking the X axis helped, but the fundamental issue that the way the hammer moves just doesn't match the controller. The cause is simple: you're not using the arm model. Update your game to use it, and the experience will feel much more immersive.

Poor controls, not enough gameplay.

Okay, blacksmithing is awesome. So the idea of a blacksmithing in vr with the gear vr controller is awesome. But the more I play this, I notice major issues. 1. The controls are terrible. I don't have a good enough sense of where the hammer is going to hit, so I end up missing the hammer spots. I also hit directly onto them and the hit doesn't register or it'll count it as right before it goes away. 2. Why the hell can't we fight with the weapons?! Why are we MAKING the weapons for someone else? Why can't we fight the monsters? This is essentially like setting up a dinner party and not being allowed to join it. 3. Why is the controller stationary to where my head is? This is a very poor option because every other vr controller title can support movement around the player. This however does not, it feels like head restricted whack a mole.
