It has potential....

First of all, I really appreciate this game. I bought Meta Quest 3 over three years ago specifically for fitness, so any game that can truly give me a sweat I appreciate. I really like the variety of workouts. I like that you are able to choose which exercises you want to do on the boss levels. Now for my many suggestions, as this game really needs improvements. It has a lot of potential but the developers need to listen to the market feedback and put effort into updating the game: The host character (a blue flame) has the most annoying voice. Is this marketed to 6-8 year old girls? I assume this is for adults to workout, but I feel embarrassed by the blue flame host character. I tend to skip her narration, and I’ve even turned her voice completely off in the audio settings. The story is extremely uninspiring to me, personally. I almost wish there wasn’t a “story.” It feels trite and condescending. Some of the exercises work better than others. For instance, the paddling and x-country skiing work well, but the squats, and many of the unique boss exercises are finnicky. And the “shield” squat exercises for the boss are very confusing. Hold for 3 seconds? Hold what? Keep squatting or just stay squatting? There is very little explanation of how the points are calculated. I will be far ahead in the leader boards to start out and then 20 seconds into battle ropes (for example) I will have dropped way down the list even without missing one target. Doesn’t make sense to me at all. Do the orbs even give you extra points, or are they just to unlock the extra levels? The orbs should really not be on the opposite of the river while kayaking on one side. There need to be a LOT more settings, including many more accessibility settings. Some people may need to sit in the exercise and cannot squat, for example. Or, you should be able to turn “off” some of the exercises you can’t do. You should also be able to turn off the leader boards. It might be motivating for some people, but other people may feel discouraged if they are on the bottom half and it will demotivate them. To me, it’s very annoying that only some exercises are including in “training” and some of them are lumped in with other exercises you may not want to do. You should be able to do ALL of the exercises in training including the boss exercises. Why can’t I practice rock climbing, ball throwing or battle drums? The music is annoying as hell. It goes on and on and on and on. In the first world, the drumming music didn’t even really match the beat of most of the exercises (like battle ropes) which made it difficult and confusing to keep a good rhythm. I turned off the music completely. Collecting orbs to open extra levels that (are by the way very tedious) is not motivating. By collecting orbs you should either get extra points, or maybe unlock new standalone exercises in the training section, or be able to customize your clothes or ‘board’ or something fun like that. The game feels like it’s in beta/early access. It needs a lot of overhauling and additions made (see above). But I think it’s on the right track. It certainly mixes up my workout routine and gets me sweating, so I appreciate that.

Awesome Fitness Game

Wow, what a game! Stunning story driven fitness app! From the get go your pulled in by the brilliant narration laying out a great story ahead. With over 80 levels there are hours of fitness fun to be had! With a huge array of different exercises to compete in. Leader boards to keep you competitive or adaptive difficulty options for the more relaxed approach. Visually it’s good on the eyes, with a very good layout that’s very intuitive. Can’t recommend it enough I’ve had a blast playing this! Well done great app!

Silly.

Another fitness game I bought and will probably never play. I don't understand all of the praise and five star reviews. I really wanted to find a new exciting game to break up the VR exercise rut I'm in (Pistol Whip, Synthrider and Until You Fall) but once again it falls flat for me. The exercises might work if the world and story were better but who is the target audience? Ten year old girls? As an older adult I feel quite ridiculous with a glittering flying smurf fluttering about telling me I have to save the planet with magic and that the monster isn't really evil but only misunderstood. And don't get me started on the canned looping music. Overall it feels like the intended audience is for preschoolers and not adults.

Happy to be back at it

EDIT: The devs restored my progress and the game is working again. I’m really happy to be back at it again because this is a decent workout. It’s a good one to have in your exercise repertoire. ORIGINAL: I do actually really enjoy this game and it’s one of my go-to fitness apps. But I’ve suddenly lost all my progress and it’s reset me to Level One. Theres no way I’m starting again from the start - is there a fix to this?

Fantastic

Been playing for around 20 minutes but I can already comment that this game is WAY better than the over-hyped Shardfall in every way. Better storyline, better graphics, better music, loads of different movements and exercises and it's just more fun!
