What a mess

I will get the good out of the way. It got resident evil gameplay vibes all over it. Some of the puzzles are ok Negatives: - game runs like garbage. Huge dips in frame rates - sluggish controls - jank sound effects, lips dont match voices, delayed sounds on actions - graphics have moments of excellence but jagged edges and weird pop in make it hard to enjoy - enemy ai is painfully stupid, embarrassingly bad, they get stuck, teleport all over the place will stop chasing you if you stand in spots - this game should of stayed in the oven longer I get so disappointed when I pre-order a game to see the "unreal engine" banner in the title. Almost all games made from this engine on quest run and look terrible. The pace of this game is jarring, there is no time to breath and take in your surroundings. Blaring horror music that doesnt match what your doing. I can keep going, im going to finish it, but only bc im starving for vr games. The best games came out 7 to 9 years ago. All that's left is well intentioned jank fests and shovelware its so disappointing that the quest store just allows buggy jank to get on their platform. Also I dont know how so many 5 star reviews came out on launch day. Especially ones saying its scary, its not. Its a headache simulatior. Sad thing is it was close to being decent but I think the choice to use unreal instead of fmod is what kills this. I wish the quest store would let you look at games released oldest to newest. Bc the games that have come out in the last year have been absolutely abysmal compared to what used to come out when I first got my quest 2. Wtf? I love vr and im watching it die in real time. So disappointing

You WILL destroy your pants! 😱

Holy moly is this game INTENSE! A constant presence of feeling dread like Metro awakening, and the horrors being chased by a psychopath and monsters like resident evil. this game helps fill the void since resident evil 4 and Metro Awakening and is an absolute TERRIFYING experience. Absolutely gory, this isn’t for the light hearted! Try to escape from a murdering lunatic and monsters at your peril! Highly recommend!

Not finished

These 5-star reviews are either paid or tied to the studio. This game was not ready for release. It is plagued with a host of issues that I cant even list them all. Broken mechanics, assets, visual glitches, pop in/out, and so many more. Game breaking issues like a certain place in the game you get stuck in the floor. Each and every time you restart the save, game, and/or headset. Can't finish. I understand this is a very small team/guy making this game. This is beyond indie jank. It just needs more time and polish. I hate to tear apart anyone's creation. I had hype for this game. It's everything I want in a vr game, and there are great bones here, it just needs to be finished. I hope you finish this. It's not a bad game, its a bad build

Brillant , graphically fantastic

I play tested this game before release, 3 separate play test for 1 week at a time. If u liked lies beneath, re4, metro awaking like I did, u will love this game. Super freaky creepy chilling high action adventure. Rarely we get games of this level with superb grahics and design. Its a gem.

Potential for good game

So I am in the section in the mine right now. So far the game has lived up to the “dread” in its name. Let’s start with the good stuff. 1. Creepy Atmosphere love it. 2 new patch has fixed some launch issues “Some Issues”. 3. Story so far is not too bad. Now some bad stuff. 1. Then Knife is 100% useless it takes 2-3 swings at a lock for it just to register that I am trying to break a lock. Knife is of no use in combat as it does so little damage I might as well being hitting monsters with a pillow. 2. Do not expect to ever have any bullets EVER. it takes so many bullets to kill one bad guy (even when hitting weak spots) that your supplies will be empty after maybe 2 fights. Ridiculous!!! I know this is supposed to be survival horror but come on. Memoreum did this SOOOOOO MUCH BETTER. Why can’ti get out my sub machine gun with out going into my inventory now?…this was working fine I’d reach over my shoulder and grab it now nothing! WTF? I want to like this game but it just has so much wrong right now. Update. So the new update is out. And guess what nothing is any better. Knife is still 100 percent useless. Takes about 15-20 strikes to knock down one of those flying things in the mine. NOT kill JUST Knock them down once. Still NO BULLETS. why even have any guns in the game if i NEVER have ammo? I shot one guy in the head (weak spot) 5 times with a shot gun and it did nothing. Give me some way to defend myself. Oh yeah I STILL can’t get my large weapons out without having to go into my inventory. I know some will say limited ammo is the challenge. But if I hit the guy 5 times with a freaking shotgun SOMETHING should happen.
