Everything in this game is wrong.
First off, I like how the trailer already teaches you how to play the game. Unfortunately that's the only positive I have with this game, everything is just bad. When you turn on the game, your hands are positioned 90 degrees opposed to how your controllers are in real life. I guess this is intentionally designed to be less straining on your wrists, but already that's just weird design and unnatural. My next complaint is the fact that even after you set your floor level in your guardian perfectly, the floor in the game is at the same level at your torso. You're basically 3 feet tall in this game and there's no way to calibrate your height in the game to make it even with the opponent. Spoiler warning, your opponent is twice as tall as you which doesn't make ANY sense at all, but you don't get to be at the same height as him. The closest you can do to calibrating your height is getting on one knee and then holding the meta home button to adjust your height. There's so many issues I have with the gameplay itself. One of which is the fact that you don't have any insensitive to catch the ball when the ai throws it at you since you can just generate one from your hand by holding one of the triggers You could also be JUST BELOW the ai's ball and you can still take damage from it which doesn't make any sense, (this goes back to the height issue). Trying to aim your ball when throwing it is just horrible. You don't have any means of predicting where the ball is gonna go when you throw it, it just flies in WHATEVER DIRECTION IT WANTS, No matter how gentle you flick your wrist upon releasing the ball. My next complaint revolves around your ball making contact with the ai... You could be hitting the ai with the ball, BY HIS LOWER TORSO WHERE HIS HANDS ARE NOT COVERING, And it still counts as him catching the ball for whatever reason. You basically have to hit him at such a pitch perfect spot in order for him to take any amount of damage. Also in real dodgeball you don't NEED to catch the ball with two hands necessarily, you really just need to catch it with one. So the fact that you can still take damage just by trying to catch the ball with one hand doesn't make any sense. This game gave me a really bad impression and there haven't been any updates beyond the initial release which at the time of me writing this was 8 months ago.
