Top 5 Free Horror Games on Quest App Lab

There’s never a bad time of year to enjoy a few bumps in the night. In fact, horror games aficionados like me tend to crave the thrill of a good scare all year long. From gore fests and haunting encounters to existential horrors, there's no shortage of hair-raising content.

But, just to make things a little easier (read: scarier), I am here to help you navigate the 5 scariest things you can play on App Lab for free.

1. Noclip VR

Noclip VR features an open-world environment that players can freely explore. This game is great, but if you get scared easily, I don't recommend playing it. Admittedly, I worked up a sweat on this one though. There is still, of course, room for improvements such as more levels, more different monsters and other mechanics you can see in PC horror games. But overall, mainly to multi-player support, this is my favourite horror game on the platform.

2. PolarDread

Playing PolarDread is like experiencing bad trip in a haunting house. Hide under a desk from a massive mechanical bear, throw objects, or even the mascots themselves, close doors, vents, and keep your barring until the clock strikes six. But beware, it's not exactly a walk in the park.

3. Crawlspace

Crawlspace doesn't have the best graphics out there. But it makes up for it in creepiness. At the beginning of the game, you'll see a very strange ad on TV encouraging you to help someone find their dolls. You, of course, lend a helping hand and venture into the clusterfuck of underground spaces, where you're left feeling despondent. Yes, horror dolls are a bit of a cliché. In this case a cliché that makes you shit yourself.

4. Insomnia

Insomnia has amazing atmosphere. You basically just walk around in the hotel corridors but the sound and visual effects are truly genuine. You are feeling like you were really there. And you don't want to be there for real, trust me. If this game had slightly longer gameplay I wouldn't hesitate moving it up in the rankings.

5. Crawlspace 2

Yep, this game made it to the list twice. The creator didn't have enough and wanted to scare you more. The second part of this series, Crawlspace 2, abounds with significantly better graphics, but the first one still leads the way in terms of horror.
