(un)OFFICIAL GUIDE BOOK for BESIEGE VR!

It needs more tutorials for noobs. I couldn't figure a lot out so I made an in depth guide on the game and yes it include HOW TO STEER A MACHINE! Just copy&paste the following text: Besiege VR – Meta Quest 3 Quick Look & Full Building Guide Chapter:1-Introduction Besiege VR is a medieval physics-based building simulator, now fully immersive in virtual reality for Meta Quest 3. In VR mode, the core PC mechanics remain, but building, testing, and controlling creations happen in 3D space with your hands. The VR version has a slightly streamlined menu layout for comfort and control, so this guide focuses exclusively on the VR build interface. Chapter:2-Building Interface/Tools 2.1 Build Menu Layout In VR, the build menu appears as a floating radial or panel UI in front of you, accessible with your controller. You select blocks/tools with a point-and-click motion. 2.2 Core Tools 1. Block Placement Tool Purpose: Place blocks in 3D space on your machine. VR Use: Grab and “snap” blocks into the grid. Rotation is done via wrist twist or joystick rotation. Tip: Hold placement trigger to continuously add in a straight line. 2. Move Tool Purpose: Relocate existing blocks without deleting them. VR Use: Grab a block and drag it to a new snap point. 3. Delete Tool Purpose: Remove blocks. VR Use: Point and click to delete. Hold trigger for multi-delete sweep. 4. Rotate Tool Purpose: Rotate blocks around axes. VR Use: Select the block, then twist your controller or use joystick inputs to rotate. 5. Mirror Tool Purpose: Build symmetrical designs faster. VR Use: Activate symmetry plane; blocks placed on one side appear mirrored on the other. 6. Translate Machine Tool Purpose: Move the entire creation in VR space to reposition it. VR Use: Useful for lining up test runs without rebuilding. 7. Translate Camera Tool Purpose: Move your personal VR viewpoint while building. VR Use: Walk in VR space or use thumbstick locomotion. 8. Undo / Redo Purpose: Reverse/restore recent actions. VR Use: Click undo/redo icons on the VR menu panel. Chapter 3 – Building Blocks & How to Use Them in VR 3.1 Structural Blocks Wooden Block – The foundation block. Cheap, light, but breakable. VR Tip: Build a chassis base before adding functional parts. Brace – Strengthens connections between parts. VR Tip: Use diagonally to prevent flex in moving machines. Plank / Half Block – Lighter than full blocks for delicate builds. 3.2 Motion & Steering Parts Hinge – Rotates freely in one axis. Use: Doors, flaps, deployable parts. Swivel Joint – Rotates in multiple axes freely. Use: Turrets, swiveling arms. Steering Hinge – Controlled hinge for wheel steering. Use: Attach to front wheels for vehicle control in VR. Ball Joint – Allows rotation in all directions without detachment. Piston – Extends/retracts when activated. Use: Lifting arms, pushing mechanisms. 3.3 Wheels & Locomotion Small Wheel / Large Wheel – Driven via keybinds. Unpowered Wheel – Rolls freely. Tracks – For tank-like movement. Powered Cog – Drives chains/gears. 3.4 Suspension & Stability Suspension – Absorbs terrain bumps, improving steering control. VR Tip: Use for vehicles with uneven weight distribution. 3.5 Weapons & Siege Gear Cannon – Fires explosive shot. Flamethrower – Short-range fire blast. Spinning Blades – Melee defense/attack. Grabber – Picks up objects when triggered. 3.6 Utility Blocks Ballast – Adjustable weight. VR Tip: Move ballast position to balance your machine mid-test. Wing Panel – Adds lift in flying machines. Propeller / Small Propeller – For air vehicles. Vacuum Block – Sucks objects toward it. Chapter 4 – Steering Systems in VR 4.1 Basic Front-Wheel Steering Use steering hinges on front wheels only. Map left/right to thumbstick or VR controller tilt. Good for simple cars. 4.2 Four-Wheel Steering Add steering hinges to both front & rear wheels. Rear steering opposite direction to front = tighter turns. Rear steering same direction = “crab walk” sideways. 4.3 Tank Steering Use separate powered wheels or tracks on left/right sides. Control each side independently. Push left forward/right backward to spin in place. 4.4 Articulated Steering Split chassis with a pivot hinge in the middle. Rotate hinge for steering instead of wheels. Great for heavy machinery. Chapter 5 – Advanced VR Tips & Hidden Tricks 1. Invisible Braces – Build braces, then remove visual mesh in settings for cleaner look. 2. Hidden Weapon Bays – Hide weapons inside hinged panels for surprise attacks. 3. Weight Shifting for Climbing – Move ballast during play to tip vehicle for climbing. 4. Snap-Free Mode – Disable snap for precise custom angles in VR. 5. Miniaturized Gears – Small cog + big cog for torque boost. 6. VR Scaling – In VR you can “lean in” close to build micro-details impossible on flat screen. 7. Multi-Layer Steering – Combine tank steering with hinge steering for extreme control.

Ultimate Immersion

Besiege VR is an incredibly immersive and visually stunning experience that brings engineering creativity to life like never before. Although I haven’t played the original PC version, the VR adaptation stands strong on its own, offering both accessibility and depth. One of the most impressive aspects is the sheer immersion. Being able to view your contraption from the inside during "destruction" phase truly elevates the gameplay. Whether you're riding along with a siege engine or adjusting parts, the sense of scale and presence is remarkable. The game strikes a perfect balance between simplicity and complexity. It can be as straightforward as slapping wheels on a block and sending it off with basic controls — or as intricate as building multi-functional machines with advanced controls, hinges, and logic. The creative possibilities feel endless. With intuitive VR controls (after getting used to them) and a robust physics system, Besiege VR invites you to experiment, fail spectacularly, and improve iteratively — which is part of the fun. Verdict: An outstanding VR title that combines creative freedom with hands-on engineering in the most immersive way possible. Highly recommended.

Amazing

Never thought this game would come to Quest but it did and it turned out perfect. Took a bit to get used to the controls but once I did it was amazing

Amazing!

I've only played the first four levels so far and I'm hooked! Being able to cobble together whatever parts you want to solve it however you like is fantastic. I'll be playing this for a long time.
