This is a fun platformer with some minor collecting elements, the levels are broken up into nice small segments. In between the platforming there are some short puzzles as well as a crane game to help break up the action. Would recommend to anyone looking for a platform experience, this is also a cute style family friendly game for anyone who is looking for games in that style.

This game is not really in a genera that i play much, but i was still able to enjoy some parts of the game. The biggest problem for me was the unskippable cutscenes which i frankly found very boring as i did not feel invested in the story at all, however it did have my favourite thing in games: GAMBLING

Bearly Escape is impressive for a game that's still under development (early access). This single-player adventure puzzle game is presented from a blend of first-person and third-person perspectives. Your mission is to rescue adorable animals who’ve been turned into plush toys by an evil scientist. You step into the shoes of a Forest Ranger, which is basically like being a superhero but with more flannel and fewer capes. Your trusty sidekick, an old hound who’s gone mysteriously AWOL (probably chasing squirrels), has left you with nothing but a reconnaissance drone equipped with a grabbing claw. Yes, a claw machine, but instead of winning cheap toys, you’re actually saving your furry friends. To break into Dr. Kidd’s secret labs, you’ll need to solve puzzles that are so simple even a toddler could crack them (but let’s be honest, toddlers are basically geniuses). Each time you rescue a plushie from the claw machine in the first person perspective, you gain necessary tools and health to help you and your lil bear buddy on the platformer escapades. When in the third-person perspective, you'll guide your lil bear buddy through a platformer jungle while he encourages you to keep going. "Yeah, buddy, I’m doing my best here dodging all these traps and foes that look like they can turn you into ground up bear meat!" As you journey deeper, the claw machine cranks up the difficulty— because what’s an adventure without a little stress and rage inducing frustration? ;) The game dazzles with eye-popping visuals and colors that make your eyeballs do a happy dance. You can earn upgrades for your claw machine and bear buddy, unlocking abilities that will make you feel like the ultimate plushie whisperer. Sure, there are only 9 levels and about 2 hours of gameplay, but there's more to come. Compete and replay levels to snag the fastest completion time on the leaderboard— because, ummm, what grown man doesn’t want to brag about their cute plushie collection?

This game is a fun platformer mixed with puzzles and claw machines. If you like claw machines, you're in luck! You play them between every level. If you like platformers, you're in luck! You play a level between each claw machine session. And if you like mini puzzles mixed in, they've got those too. If you don't like the claw machines, the good news is that it's pretty quick. These increase in difficulty as you go, which helps keep it a little interesting. Also, the physics are surprisingly solid. There wasn't a time where I thought I should've gotten something and didn't (excluding the times it would've happened in a real claw machine). The levels get more complex as you go, which is a necessity for platformers. I didn't make it all the way through the game yet, but I can't wait to see what's in store!

Note: Product received for free for testing. If you like crane games and you like Moss-style 3D platformers with interaction with the level, this is shaping up to be a good game. I'm being generous in my review rating because this is releasing as Early Access and these issues can be fixed later (and I will update my review to reflect that as I can). The platforming ramps up appropriately and it's certainly interesting and fun despite the control issues. The crane game physics are great and feel more realistic (but thankfully not perfectly realistic) than most crane games I play in video games. The characters are also cute. Okay, now the negatives: Controls are wonky with detection seeming to be an issue? I stop repeatedly as if my controller's stick is dying or I'm having tracking issues but I know for a fact that it works fine. (They've improved the crane stick detection so I'm hoping they improve that too.) It's very obvious a lot of content is missing with goals to find legendary plushes that never show up and get to levels that don't exist yet and the overall feeling after beating it feels like I played the introduction of a game. (I would expect to be about 1/3 through the story at most. It almost feels like a tech demo.) The crane upgrades don't really make an insane difference and I hope the devs look into Japanese crane games for inspiration for how they could get creative with future levels. It also seems to be using AI for art/VA but I'm not 100% sure. There are also audio issues of things like the characters being rescued being like 2x the volume of the game. There are also broken English phrases they say so hopefully localization is worked on. Lots of blemishes but I do think the game has a lot of potential. I'd personally recommend getting it if the premise intrigues you but possibly wait until after Early Access if you're on the fence. It's very accessible to new players and it has a bit of something for experienced players.
